Training objectives

Raising awareness and helping companies (directors and managers) to identify air quality issues and formalize an action plan to reduce their impact.

Pedagogical objectives

At the end of this training course, trainees will have understood the air quality issues facing industrial companies, and will be able to initiate an action plan (specific to each company) that they can pursue independently to reduce the impact of emissions.
At the end of the course, trainees will be able to :

  • Know the main families of air pollutants (POPs, VOCs, etc.)
  • Will have identified the sources of emissions of each family of atmospheric pollutants in the industrial sector
  • Know the impact of each family of air pollutants in the industrial sector
  • Have understood the regulatory framework for each family of air pollutants
  • Understand the principles of metrology at source
  • Will have identified the various techniques for reducing emissions at source
  • Will have identified the various techniques for treating emissions
  • Will be able to structure its approach to reducing and treating emissions

    • Major families of air pollutants: POPs, VOCs, fluorinated gases, nitrogen oxides, particulates, nitrous oxide, ammonia
    • Main sources of emissions for each pollutant
    • The health impacts of each pollutant
    • The role of meteorology in the impact of atmospheric pollutants
  • Regulatory framework for each family of air pollutants: maximum threshold, installation requirements, etc.
  • The importance of metrology at source: a structured approach starts with measurement
  • Techniques for reducing emissions at source
  • Techniques for treating emissions
  • Case studies of emission reduction and treatment actions by companies
  • Communication with stakeholders: institutions, the general public, associations, etc.
  • A method for structuring your approach to reducing and treating emissions
    • Identify air pollutants generated by the company’s activities
    • Measure pollutants emitted by the company’s activities
    • Prioritize possible actions: reduce before treating

Teaching method: learning-based pedagogy with alternating interactive activities using the group’s collective intelligence, content input by the trainer, and company work.
