Training objectives

How to run a 2tonne workshop to enable individuals and organizations to take ownership of the climate change challenge and encourage them to take action.

On completion of this training course, participants will be able to organize and run a 2-ton workshop on their own.

The participant will master the three roles of the presenter:

1/ Organizer: logistics and responsibility

  • Prepare the necessary resources
  • Guaranteeing timing

2/ Workshop expert: knowledge of key concepts and workshop pedagogy

  • Understanding the game and its key concepts
  • Master the 2tonne platform and the animation support
  • Demonstrate pedagogical skills to provide clear explanations to players
  • Be aware of the moderator’s position, i.e. that he or she is not a carbon expert.

3/ Facilitator: benevolence and mediation

  • learn to follow the flow without getting overwhelmed
  • learn to adjust the level of difficulty to suit the audience
  • be attentive to reactions
  • welcoming emotions

Pedagogical objectives

This course will review :

  • how a 2-tonne workshop runs , and learn about the role and posture of the facilitator,
  • animation media,
  • the 2-tonne web platform
  • orders of magnitude and key concepts,
  • the presenter’s contributions,
  • the facilitation techniques needed to engage participants,
  • management of different participant profiles.

This training course will enable participants to develop :

  • its skills and know-how as an animator to facilitate teaching
  • hisleadership in promoting the 2tonnes workshop approach and rolling it out internally.

Executives, directors, managers, project managers or project leaders working in the fields of sustainable development, CSR, ESG, QSE, environment, communications, purchasing, supply chain, finance or strategy. All employees!

Pedagogical methods

Face-to-face training delivered by a Connection Leadership trainer.

Pedagogical tools used :

  • 2tonnes workshop (card game and official online platform of the 2tonnes association)
  • Participants’ carbon footprints printed on paper

Teaching method :

  • Operational, active and participative training, alternating classroom-based academic input with exercises, case studies and role-playing.
  • Dematerialized training material
  • Feedback and improved practices

Technical resources:

  • 1 training room with the possibility of 2 islands of tables each measuring 2m by 1m
  • 1 table and 1 chair for the hostess
  • 1 video projector and 1 screen
  • a Wi-Fi or stable Internet connection

Specialist in Ecological Transition, experienced facilitator of the 2tonnes workshop, trained in facilitation and collective intelligence management, specialist in business transformation coaching and trainer training.

Monitoring and assessment

Pre-course needs questionnaire and learning assessment quiz to better understand the audience’s level and expectations.

Follow-up and support for participants during case studies, exercises, role-playing and in-session tests.

Assessment of knowledge through a Quiz at the end of the course.

Post-training satisfaction and evaluation questionnaire.
