Training objectives

At the end of this course, learners will be able to apply a simple, effective methodology for collective problem-solving, getting to the root causes of the problem and controlling the risk of problems reappearing in future products or processes.

  • D1 : Taking charge of the problem: setting up the team and the different roles
  • D2: Posing the problem, understanding the situation: QQOQCPC and IS-NOT, the 3 reals
  • D3: Contain the problem: precautionary measures to protect the customer
  • D4 : Identify all causes, then identify root causes
  • D5 : Determine corrective actions to eradicate the problem
  • D6 : Implement actions and check their effectiveness
  • D7 : Eliminate and anticipate with preventive actions
  • D8: Capitalize and sustain the situation

  • An 8D template in Excel and/or paper format for learners to fill in as they go along
