Training objectives

Be completely at ease in understanding and exploiting the panorama of sustainable development and CSR standards, commitments and labels available on the market.

Pedagogical objectives

Participants will be able to recognize the various commitments and labels available on the market, both for the company and its products.
They will be better able to find their way around, and will have acquired the techniques/questions to know which commitment/label to choose for their company.

They will also learn how to communicate responsibly to promote their CSR commitments.

Executives, managers, key members involved in their company’s CSR project

Prerequisites

It is recommended that you have taken the “Understanding everything: from sustainable development issues to CSR” course (or any other course on sustainable development and CSR, as the fundamentals will not be covered at the start of the course).

Part 1 - Regulatory reminders

Deciphering what is a law, a standard, a voluntary commitment, an official label, a self-declaration, a marking, a brand…
Research exercises

Part 2 - History of initiatives over time

(Re)discover the emergence of the main laws, standards and labels since the 90s, in environmental, social, societal and ethical terms.
Focus on current events.
Group quiz.

Day 3 - Focus on CSR labels for companies

Overview of generalist and sectoral CSR labels.
Focus on the B Corp label and its innovative character on the IBM “Impact Business Model”
Questions and answers from the floor

Day 4 - Focus on product labels

Understand the differences between official and unofficial labels, self-declarations and brands.
Reminders on BEGES, ACV, rules on responsible communication (including environmental claims).
Training on communication cases (detecting greenwashing)

Pedagogical methods

Face-to-face and distance learning with a Connection Leadership trainer

Pedagogical tools used :

  • Standards and labels (Ministry report)
  • Company tools: Label Lucie, Afnor, B Corp, etc.
  • Product tools: focus on BEGES (greenhouse gas balance sheet), LCA (life cycle assessment)
  • ISO14021 standard (environmental claims) & CNC 2023 guide (Conseil de national de la consommation)

Teaching method: learning-based pedagogy with alternating interactive activities, using the collective intelligence of the group, content input by the trainer, and reflection on the context and needs of the company.

Technical resources:

  • 1 training room with the possibility of 2 islands of tables each measuring 2m by 1m
  • 1 video projector or TV screen
  • 2 paper boards

Senior CSR Consultant and Trainer, trained in facilitation and collective intelligence management, specialist in business transformation and change management.

Monitoring and assessment

Pre-course needs questionnaire and learning assessment quiz to better understand the audience’s level and expectations.

Follow-up and support for participants during case studies, exercises, role-playing and in-session tests.

Assessment of knowledge through a Quiz at the end of the course.

Post-training satisfaction and evaluation questionnaire.
