Acquire the knowledge base needed to initiate / manage / contribute effectively to an investment program aimed at reducing a company’s GHG emissions.

Make proposals for selecting, financing and implementing investments

Be able to anticipate the difficulties associated with low-carbon investment for a company

At the end of the course, participants will have carried out a diagnosis and drawn up an action plan based on a case study, giving them the tools to replicate the approach in their own company.

Pedagogical objectives

At the end of the course, participants will be able to :

  • Understand the different issues involved in investing in equipment and processes that emit less GHG for industrial companies, and for their own in particular.
  • Implement an investment analysis and selection grid
  • Understand the impact of low-carbon investments on the various functions of their business, including social, environmental and economic aspects, in order to anticipate them.
  • Identify the different sources of financing available for low-carbon projects, and choose the financing mechanisms best suited to their business.
  • Develop an internal and external communication strategy for low-carbon projects
  • Set up a system for monitoring and evaluating projects and their contribution to the company’s GHG emissions reduction objective.

Target audience

Anyone involved in the company’s investment projects, aware of the need to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the company’s various areas of activity.

Prerequisites

No absolute prerequisites, but participants will benefit all the more from this training if they have taken 20_L3A2_Reduce your greenhouse gas emissions linked to energy consumption by integrating investments.

  • Cost-benefit analysis and cost-effectiveness analysis to assess project profitability
  • Selection criteria for low-carbon projects aligned with corporate objectives
Module 3: Integrating low-carbon investments into business processes
  • Integrate low-carbon issues into the company’s global strategy
  • Analyze the impact of low-carbon projects on the company’s value chain
  • Identify integration points for low-carbon projects in operational processes (financial, technical, marketing, etc.)
  • Involve internal stakeholders in decision-making and project implementation
Module 4: Financing low-carbon investments
  • Identify the different sources of financing available for low-carbon projects
  • Understand public and private financing mechanisms for green projects
  • Understanding third-party financing
  • Case studies of successful low-carbon investment financing projects
Module 5: Monitoring, Evaluation and Continuous Improvement
  • Set up a monitoring and evaluation system for low-carbon projects
  • Making adjustments to optimize the performance of low-carbon investments
  • Promote continuous improvement of the company’s low-carbon approach
Module 6: Case studies
  • Analyze a practical case of low-carbon investment in a real company
  • Work in groups to assess the relevance, feasibility and impact of the project
  • Propose an action plan for financing and successfully integrating the project into the company

Teaching method: a learning approach alternating interactive activities, practical case studies and content input by the trainer, including question-and-answer sessions to tailor training content to the specific needs of each company or participant.
